Arrival in Sibiu. Guided visit in the historical centre of the town – visit the most important sights of Sibiu – European Capital of Culture in 2007.

Day 2: The Saxon Treasure / Prince Charles in Transylvania
Guided visit Biertan – a traditional Saxon village with an amazing fortified church – UNESCO Heritage Monument. We’ll then visit Malancrav (with its beautiful Saxon church and the famous Apafi Manor) – we’ll have lunch in one of the old Saxon houses that were restored and bought by Prince Charles’ Association in Transylvania.
In the afternoon we’ll visit Sighisoara – a UNESCO Heritage fortress, a beautiful town built on a hill, the place where it is said that Dracula was born. We’ll listen to great and interesting stories here!
Day 3: Beyond Dracula’s steps
Today we’ll continue the story of Dracula in Transylvania. We’ll visit its famous castle from Bran and we’ll try to explore more regarding its mysterious life. On our way, we’ll stop to visit the Fagaras Fortress – considered among the 3 most interesting castles in Eastern Europe by Huffington Post.
We’ll also climb the hill in Rasnov to visit a big fortress where great films were shot (among them The Scorpion King). In the afternoon we’ll have a pleasant walk in the historical centre of Brasov – one of the most beautiful medieval cities in Romania. It will be a long but great day!
Day 4: Life in the countryside
How about a relaxing day in the countryside? We’ll visit the beautiful Saxon church in Cristian where we’ll taste some Schnapps in the Bacon Towerand we’ll watch the beautiful storks in the village. Then, we’ll have a tour in one of the most important Icon Glass Museums in Eastern Europe – in Sibiel.
In Sibiel we’ll also have lunch at a local household – it will be just delicious! Our experience continues with a visit at a local leather man and, afterwards, a ride in a carriage pulled by horses in Gura Râului *Optional: in the evening, traditional dinner.
Day 5: Life at the sheepfold
Maybe you have heard of sheepfold but never seen one. It’s a great chance to have a nice trekking tour and visit a traditional sheepfold in the mountains. We’ll see how life is there and what the main activities are. Of course, we’ll have a delicious dinner with cheese, polenta and different types of meat.
In the afternoon we’ll visit the biggest Open Air Museum in Romania; the Astra Ethnography Museum in Sibiu.
Day 6 Transfagarasan: Probably the Best Road in the World
From Sibiu, we’ll go up in the Fagaras Mountains and cross the highest road in Romania – the Transfăgărăşan road! The landscape is amazing! We’ll climb down the other side of the mountains, climb again – this time more than 1400 steps to visit the Poienari fortress – built by the already famous Dracula.
On our way back to Sibiu we’ll stop for two special visits: in Curtea de Arges and at Cozia – to visit two beautiful and symbolical Orthodox Churches and Monasteries.
Day 7: One Castle One Fortress
Today we’ll visit the beautiful Corvin Castle – one of the most beautiful and best preserved medieval castles in Romania. In the afternoon we’ll go to Alba Iulia, a recently restored Vauban fortress with a wonderful walking area and many-many stories and legends to tell! Good-bye dinner!
Day 8: Goodbye Romania
This package is with the arrival from Sibiu. It can be modified according to your wish and availability.
