ARRIVAL IN SIBIU
Guided visit to the historical Town Centre – visit the most important sights of Sibiu, the European Capital of Culture in 2007.

THE SAXON TREASURE / PRINCE CHARLES IN TRANSYLVANIA
Guided visit to Biertan – a traditional Saxon village with a truly stunning fortified church which is a UNESCO Heritage Monument. We’ll then visit Mălâncrav (with a beautiful Saxon church and the famous Apafi Manor). We’ll have lunch in one of the old Saxon houses that was restored and bought by Prince Charles’ Association in Transylvania.
In the afternoon we’ll visit Sighișoara -a UNESCO Heritage Fortress. Sighișoara is a beautiful town built on a hill and is, according to legend, the birthplace of Dracula. Get ready to hear some fascinating stories on this trip because this is a really interesting place!
BEYOND PRINCE CHARLES AND MYSTERIOUS DRACULA
Today we’ll continue the story of Dracula in Transylvania. We’ll visit the famous Bran Castle and delve deeper into the mysteries within its walls. On our way we’ll stop to visit the Făgăraș Fortress – considered by Huffington Post to be among the 3 most interesting castles in Eastern Europe.
Today we’ll also climb the hill in Râșnov to visit an impressive fortress that’s been featured in many films (including The Scorpion King). In the afternoon we’ll enjoy a pleasant walk in the historical centre of Brașov – one of the most beautiful medieval cities in Romania.
Interested in seeing some stunning Romanian countryside? Today we’ll visit the beautiful Saxon church in Cristian where we’ll taste some Schnapps in the Bacon Tower and see the beautiful storks in the village. Then, we’ll enjoy a tour in The Museum of Icons on Glass in Sibiel.
In Sibiel we’ll also have lunch at a local household before we visit a local Leatherworker and enjoy a horse and carriage ride in Gura Râului.

LIFE AT THE SHEEPFOLD
Perhaps you have heard of a sheepfold (also known as a sheep pen) but never actually seen one? Today offers the chance to enjoy a pleasant trekking tour and visit a traditional sheepfold in the mountains. Here, we’ll gain some insight into what life is like at the sheepfold before indulging in a delicious dinner with cheese, polenta and various types of meat.
In the afternoon we’ll visit the biggest Open-Air Museum in Romania – the Astra Ethnography Museum in Sibiu.
THE HIGHEST ROAD IN ROMANIA
From Sibiu we’ll head into the picturesque Făgăraș Mountains and cross the highest road in Romania – the Transfăgărăşan Road. We’ll go down the other side of the mountains before climbing again. This time we’ll climb more than 1400 steps to visit the Poenari Fortress, built by the famous Dracula!
On our way back to Sibiu we’ll stop for two special visits in Curtea de Argeș and at Cozia, to see two beautiful Orthodox churches and monasteries.

ONE CASTLE, ONE FORTRESS
Today we’ll visit the stunning Corvin Castle – one of the most beautiful and best-preserved medieval castles in Romania. In the afternoon we’ll head to Alba Iulia, a recently restored Vauban fortress with many legends. Following this, we will enjoy a goodbye dinner.
