We will take you through some of the stunning landscapes Romania has to offer, through the Carpathian Mountains, the wildest area in the country. There is no region in Romania more saturated with natural wonders than the Carpathian Mountains.

This mountain biking tour, this adventure it will take you right in the middle of pastures, beautiful villages, sheepfolds and forests, will most definitely impress you! In these environments, the presence of human settlements has not disturbed the original landscape and ecosystems.

We bring the usual biking tour to e new dimensions.

YOUR ITINERARY

Cycling deep in the heart of Apuseni Mountains!

So, this is your chance to cross untouched landscapes cycling!

Day 1 Arrive in the desired airport. A car will pick you up from the airport and transport you to the hotel in Oradea. You will be taken on a light stroll through the city centre, visit the medieval fortress and eat in a traditional Romanian restaurant on the river-side.
Day 2 Our first day of cycling. After custom fitting the bikes, we will transport you to Sinteu in Ses Mountains. This scenic route is on the ridge of the mountains with splendid views over the valley below. We pass through a Slovak community, and its interesting history will be unveiled during lunch in one of the remote villages. We end our day with a splendid descent to Bucea, and our overnight accommodation location. It has a swimming pool and Jacuzzi so pack your bathing suit!
Day 3 Start the day with a traditional breakfast. The route will take us deep into the Vladeasa Mountains. After a difficult ascent, we will stop at an old lady’s house to eat traditional pies and drink home-made syrup. Our route will continue until we get to some spectacular views over the Dragan Lake at over 1100 meters. End the day in a beautiful guesthouse overlooking the lake.
Day 4 Start the day with a traditional breakfast overlooking the Dragan Lake. On this day, we will circle the lake with a stop at the local ethnographic museum. Our guest, the “professor”, has clothing and household objects that are over 200 years old and will charm you with the history of symbols on these objects. We will also take kayaks and boats on the lake and enjoy the shine of the water and the remote scenery. We will come back to our beautiful guesthouse that overlooks the Dragan Lake and have fresh fish on barbeque and a camp fire to finish the day.
Day 5 The “King Day” regarding the scenery of this trip, this day is also the longest. Leaving Dragan valley, we will make our way to higher altitudes reaching 1800 meters. Cycling on the ridge of the mountains to the mountain village of Padis. Our lunch for the day will be a picnic at over 1700 meters with breath-taking views over the Apuseni Mountains at Boga Rocks.
Day 6 Living Padis in the morning, we will cycle on a gravel tracks to reach the Calineasa valley. After having lunch, we will descend to Casa de Piatra (Stone House) and visit the Vartop Glacier. We will later settle in a cosy guesthouse and the spectacular scenery.
Day 7 Our last day in the Apuseni Mountains is going to show you the largest underground glacier in Europe, Scarisoara Glacier. Firstly, we will leave the Stone House village and slowly ascend through a canyon. On our way we are going to stop for another cave, called Ionele’s cave. The cherry on the cake will be seeing and feeling the glacier underneath you. A must do! Making our way to Arieseni ski resort, we will spend our last night in the mountains.
Day 8 8: On the last day of your trip, we will wake up early in the morning and make our way back to Oradea. This day is for relaxing! We will take you to the local SPA with thermal water or if you feel like just walking and shopping in the city we will do that as well!
Day 9 We will transport you back to the desired airport.
