FĂGĂRAȘ MOUNTAINS, HERE WE COME!
Transfer from Sibiu to Brâncoveanu Monastery. We’ll visit the monastery before ascending the Sâmbăta Valley, a stunning valley with waterfalls and plenty of wildlife to see. After we reach the cabin, we’ll stop for lunch before visiting the cave of Arsenie Boca, who was one of the notable Priests of the Romanian-Orthodox Church and lived there for a few years.
Route: Sibiu – Brâncoveanu Monastery – Sâmbăta Valley – Sâmbăta Cabin (1401 m).
Duration: around 3 hours. Level difference: + 695 m. Difficulty of the hiking tour: easy-medium. Dinner and overnight at the Sâmbăta cabin (1401 m)
Route: Sâmbata Cabin (1401 m) – Cheia Bandei Peak (2383 m) – Urlea Peak (2483 m) – Balaceni Peak (2288 m) – Fereastra Mare a Sambetei Saddle – Sambata Cabin (1401 m).
Duration: around 7 hours. Level difference: + 1082 m / – 1082 m. Difficulty of the hiking tour: medium. Dinner and overnight at the Sambata cabin (1401 m)

CONQUERING ‘ROMANIA’S ROOF’
Route: Sâmbăta Cabin – Fereastra Mare a Sâmbetei Saddle (2188 m) –Găleșescu Mare Peak (2470 m) – Vistea Mare Peak (2527m) – MOLDOVEANU Peak (2544m) – Podragu Cabin (2136m).
Today we’ll step onto the highest peak in the Romanian Carpathians – Moldoveanu Peak (2544m). Prepare yourself because this is a challenging (and enjoyable) experience! This is the longest route for crossing the main summit and is sure to be an amazing, unforgettable experience.
Duration: around 10 hours. Level difference: + 1143 m / – 408 m. Difficulty of the hiking tour: medium-hard. Dinner and overnight at the Podragu cabin (2136 m)
IN THE HEART OF THE FĂGĂRAȘ MOUNTAINS
Route: Podragu Cabin – Podu Giurgiului Lake – Mircii Peak (2471m) – Fereastra Zmeilor – Vânătarea lui Buteanu Peak (2507m) – Vaiuga Valley – Bâlea Lake (2030m)
A surprise awaits us for the last part of the tour; the view of the incredible Bâlea Valley and the famous Transfăgărășan Road! This road was dubbed by the Top Gear crew as one of the greatest roads in the world – and for good reason. The ‘Road that Touches the Sky’ was constructed on the order of the former Communist Romanian President, Nicolae Ceauşescu, and was considered a strategic linking road between Transylvania, Southern Romania and Wallachia.

THE NEGOIU PEAK (2535M) THE SECOND HIGHEST PEAK IN THE ROMANIAN CARPATHIANS
Route: Bâlea Lake area (2030m) – Paltinu Peak – Laitel Peak (2390 m) – Caltun Lake – NEGOIU Peak (2535 m) – Cleopatra Saddle – Negoiu Cabin (1546 m)
This incredible part of the tour takes us towards the second peak of the Romanian mountains- Negoiu Peak.
Level difference: + 505 / – 989 m. Duration: about 8-8½ hours. Difficulty of the hiking tour: medium-hard. Dinner and overnight at Negoiu cabin (1546 m).
AVRIG LAKE – ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LAKES IN THE FĂGĂRAȘ MOUNTAINS
Route: Negoiu Cabin (1546m) – Scara Saddle (2146m) – Scara Peak (2306m) – Avrig Lake (2080m)- Barcaciu Cabin (1550m). Level difference: + 760 / – 756 m. Duration: about 7-7½ hours. Difficulty of the hiking tour: medium. Dinner and overnight at Barcaciu cabin (550 m).
